Puede que escuchar a Iggy Pop interpretar este tipo de canciones alejadas de los guitarreos más fieros siga llamando la atención pero supongo que no es fácil pasarte 40 años dando gritos y sin parar de bailar. Todos necesitamos un reposo de vez en cuando y el bueno de Iggy se lo tomó en este disco “Avenue B” con temas como este “Miss Argentina”.
Por supuesto que se tome un descanso para sus cuerdas vocales, susurrando más que cantando, no quiere decir que se olvide de que es Iggy Pop, así que esta vez deja las drogas y el rock and roll a un lado para centrarnos nuestra atención en el sexo, en concreto el que le proporciona su particular Miss Argentina.
La letra de esta canción te intenta poner en la piel de una estrella del Rock and Roll que en el año que editó esta canción, 1999, tendría 52 años y la visión que tiene de su nueva amante que probablemente no llegue a la veintena de años. Ella le habla de sus grupos favoritos, los Rolling Stones, casi contemporáneos al artista, o los de su hermano pequeño, los Ramones, bastante más jóvenes que el señor Iggy. También te hace ver una especie de mirada paternal de Iggy sobre su nueva conquista amorosa. Interesante perspectiva, ¿no?.
Supongo que tiene su gracia pero es que Iggy Pop a día de hoy sigue estando en forma y las chicas argentinas son tan lindas…
